MUVA in RM300mil deal with Datasonic & TNB unit to develop UAS survey, mapping solution in Guinea
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia UAV Alliance Association (MUVA) has teamed up with Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s training arm and ICT solutions provider Datasonic Group Bhd to develop an advanced Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) survey and mapping solution for the latter’s E-Land project in Guinea.
The strategic partnership brings together the expertise and resources of MUVA, TNB Integrated Learning Solution Sdn Bhd (TNB ILSAS) and Datasonic to deliver innovative UAS technologies and services for the E-Land project in the West African country.
“The collaboration aims to leverage MUVA’s UAS expertise, Datasonic’s security-based ICT solutions capabilities, and TNB ILSAS’s training proficiency to support the development of a cutting-edge UAS solution tailored specifically for the E-Land project.
“The project will utilise UAS technologies to conduct advanced surveying and mapping activities, enabling efficient data collection and analysis for the development and management of the project,” MUVA said in a joint statement today.
MUVA said the value of the project agreement between it and Datasonic was estimated at RM300 million over five years.
“The estimated value is based on the nationwide aerial survey and mapping service works including data acquisition, image data processing and analysis, and topographic map for Datasonic’s E-Land project in the Republic of Guinea.
“It will use advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platform with vertical take-off landing (VTOL) technology including Altitude Angel’s GuardianUTM UAS Traffic Management System” MUVA said.
MUVA president Dr Mohd Zaliman bin Mohd Yusoff said Datasonic’s E-Land project presented an exciting opportunity to showcase the potential of UAS technologies in surveying and mapping applications.
“Through this collaboration, we are committed to delivering an innovative UAS solution that enhances the project’s efficiency, accuracy, and environmental sustainability.
“We are proud to partner with Datasonic and TNB ILSAS, leveraging our combined expertise to provide comprehensive UAS technologies and services for the E-Land project.”
Being the prime contractor for the E-Land project, Datasonic’s expertise in security-based ICT solutions will also contribute to the development of a robust and secure UAS system, ensuring data integrity and protection throughout the surveying and mapping operations.
TNB ILSAS’s training proficiency will support the technical collaboration by providing specialised training programs for UAS operators, further enhancing the capabilities and professionalism of the project’s personnel.
“We are pleased to be part of this collaboration, bringing our extensive experience in security-based ICT solutions to enhance the UAS capabilities for the E-Land project,” said Datasonic president and chief of special project Datuk Syahril Abdullah.
“By integrating advanced security features into the UAS system, we aim to provide a reliable and secure platform for the project’s surveying and mapping activities. This collaboration underscores our commitment to leveraging technology for impactful solutions,” he added.
